Guardian of an exceptional site
Owned by National Defence, the site entrusted to the Corporation du Fort St-Jean is a jewel of Johannais heritage.
Bordering the Richelieu River, it is home to century-old trees, buildings, and historical relics, all of which we preserve with great passion. It offers a multitude of facilities useful to military trainees, residents and the local population.

Cultural heritage
Several key events in our collective past have taken place over the past 350 years at the Fort Saint-Jean site, which continues to unveil its many historical secrets today.
Care for remnants and artifacts
We preserve the highly visible remnants of the successive forts from 1748 and 1776. In collaboration with the experts from the Fort Saint-Jean Museum, we maintain the thirty or so artifacts and commemorative monuments scattered across the site.
Support for the Fort Saint-Jean Museum
In 2016, we provided this museum institution with a conservation and exhibition space worthy of its collections. We also support its operations.
Constant archaeological monitoring
Each of our underground interventions is carried out under the supervision of archaeology specialists, who can identify historical points of interest to protect.
